For centuries linen has often been associated with wealth since it was mainly used by the upper classes of society. Linen is a bast fiber, made from the fibers of the flax plant, and it is labor-intensive to manufacture, thus produced in relatively small quantities. When fabricated, it is highly valued for its’ smooth texture, organic natural luster, and exceptional coolness in hot weather. A very durable and strong fabric, linen is one of the few that is stronger wet than dry, and it has no lint or pilling tendency. Nevertheless, the tendency to wrinkle is often considered part of the fabric’s “charm”, including its’ random “slubs” (small knots) that provide the aesthetic appeal of a natural product.

This premium Linen Voile is lightweight, semi-sheer and gets softer the more it is washed. Linen Voile is also highly absorbent, which makes for an ideal garment in keeping the wearer cool and comfortable.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Machine wash warm with like colors (preferably on gentle cycle) and with mild detergent (do not use bleach, and do not pour fabric softener directly on garment). Tumble dry low, or line dry, or air dry on a good non-absorbent hanger. Warm, steam iron. Dry clean OK.

Note: This Linen Voile fabric is slightly sheer where an undergarment might be necessary to reduce the transparent character of the weave. Also, actual colors may vary slightly due to your screen.

Elegant design details provide a smart look and clean lines to this full bodied silhouette to enhance your personal style.

Our classic Savoir Blouse features a traditional point collar with a triple stitched button down front. Full length sleeves end with buttoned square cuffs. For a stylish look the sleeves can also be rolled back toward the elbow and fastened with a buttoning tab. The backside sports a classic yoke that has a slight “V” shape. A full bodied fit with very rich draping provides long wearing comfort. Additional style elements include twin front breast pockets, a round bottom “shirt tail” hem that falls to the hips, and subtle stitching throughout the top. Garment dyed richness also adds distinctive character to this versatile piece that pairs well pants, leggings, and designer jeans, making it a wonderful choice for travel, work or play.

With easy care in mind, the "washable" silk fabric chosen for this garment makes it a sensible fashion investment.

Our classic Loving Blouse features a traditional point collar with a triple stitched button down front. Full length sleeves end with buttoned square cuffs. The slightly round bottom hem falls to the hips, has side slits, and the backside is fashionably longer than the front. Our mesmerizing Bijou woven fabric print features a mélange of stylized floral mandalas, floral cartouches, and scrolling vinery, all rendered in contemporary artistry, and layered here as an overprint element to the fabric landscape. The background consists of a muted floral Curly-Q trellis design, in pattern repeat. The middle print layer depicts a trio of stylized Lily bouquets, also in pattern repeat. The color diffusion throughout the print provides a dreamlike effect to the overall complexion of the fabric. This synergy of colors and sublime imagery wonderfully enhances the rich draping of our Silk Crêpe de Chine.
