Our popular knit Mara Tunic Top is garment dyed for rich coloration and is offered in select season relevant hues. This classic tunic body style retains its’ fashion integrity when designed for use with numerous modern fabrics produced for women’s knit clothing.

FABRIC & CARE

FABRIC CONTENTS: 46% Cotton / 46% Rayon / 8% Spandex

This superb Cotton & Rayon blend is a wonderful combination of fibers that provides much appreciated comfort and minimal care practicality. A medium strength natural plant fiber, Cotton is cool, absorbent, and can withstand high temperatures. When fabricated, Cotton releases perspiration quickly, allowing the fabric to “breathe”, thus giving it a premium on comfort and wearability. Because of its’ absorbency, it is easily garment dyed.

Different from other man-made fibers, Rayon is not synthetic, being made from regenerated wood pulp, an Eco-natural, cellulose-rich raw material. Rayon's properties are renowned for their similarity to organic fibers such as cotton and linen. Rayon is also soft, strong and absorbent, and it allows for quality garment dyeing, thus enriching our product with vibrant hues and deep colorations.

This synergy of fibers creates a knit jersey here with a soft-textured “hand” which keeps the wearer clothed in non-abrading comfort. This fabric is easy to care for, it is also wonderfully wrinkle resistant, and it’s also suitable for manufacturing into a variety of body styles designed for women's knit apparel.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Machine wash warm with like colors, and with mild detergent (do not use bleach, and do not pour fabric softener directly on garment). Tumble dry low. Warm, steam iron (if needed). Dry Clean OK.

THE STORY

Somehow soft ballet style tops find their way into well appointed wardrobes, much like our Fontaine Knit Jersey Jacquard Mara Tunic, which was crafted using a premium Cotton & Rayon Blend fabric chosen for long wearing comfort, rich draping and minimal care. With costume origins from traditional ballet corps in Europe during the early 1800’s, the elegant design of this silhouette has enjoyed decades of popularity among women of all ages. Attention is drawn here to the marvelously soft textured “puffed stripe” jacquard pattern (which we call “Fontaine”) that serves as a style element as well as a visual statement.

Our pullover Mara Tunic Top features a round neckline, ¾ length sleeves, and a squared bottom hemline that falls to the upper thighs, all classic elements of this ballet inspired body style. Subtle stitching throughout enhances the fashion simplicity of this form fitting silhouette. Garment dyed richness also adds distinctive character to this versatile piece that pairs easily with pants, leggings and designer jeans. TENCEL™ branded lyocell  fibers are produced by environmentally responsible processes from the sustainably sourced natural raw material wood. TENCEL™ lends weight to create long lines and an elegant drape, along with a soft feel and suede-like finish. For the environmentally-conscious, TENCEL™ branded fibers can offer a range of features including botanic origin, sustainable production, gentleness of skin, long-lasting softness, silky smoothness, enhanced breathability, color retention and biodegradability. Unique physical properties of TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers lead to their great strength, efficient moisture absorption.
